Sunshine, Laughter & a Beautiful Bond
Updated: Sep 5
The other day, I was dropping my son off at his learning studio when a little girl and her mom walked in.
I noticed them immediately.
They were laughing, talking, and completely comfortable with each other. There was something so natural and beautiful about their connection that my first thought was, “I need to photograph them.”
So I did something that felt slightly crazy. I walked over, introduced myself, and told the mom exactly what I had noticed. I explained that I am a photographer and would love to capture the relationship between the two of them.
A few days later, they were in my studio.
There is a certain time of day when the sunlight comes through my studio windows in the most beautiful way. I knew I wanted to photograph them in that light. Nothing overly posed or complicated. I just wanted to give them space to laugh, play, and be themselves together.
The session was exactly what I had imagined. Sweet, playful, and full of the small moments that cannot really be forced.
And the photographs feel like sunshine.
Yes, they are beautiful. But what I love most is that you can see their relationship in them. You can feel how comfortable they are together and how much they genuinely enjoy each other.
That is always what I am looking for.
I am not interested in creating a collection of perfect poses with perfect smiles. I want the photographs to look beautiful, of course, but I also want them to mean something. I want you to recognize yourself and the people you love in them.
Children grow. Relationships change. Life moves much faster than we think it will. The ordinary moments we barely notice now are often the ones we wish we could return to later.
Photographs give us something to hold on to.
If you have been thinking about being photographed with your child, your partner, or someone who means everything to you, do not keep waiting for the perfect time. Let’s plan a session that feels like you and create something you will be grateful to have years from now.
